Want to replace your bathtub with a shower, but worried about the price and what’s behind the walls? And would you rather leave the rest of the bathroom alone?
We get it. You want a shower that’s easier to use without turning the whole room into a construction project. Our North Little Rock team helps homeowners across Central Arkansas work through those choices. We’re part of the Mullikin family’s Bath Fitter franchise operation, which began in 2003.
A conversion replaces the tub with a shower in the same bathing area. We’ll measure the space, show you the wall and enclosure choices, and explain the work before you decide. If keeping a tub or hiring a contractor for a full room remodel makes more sense, we’ll talk through that too.

What do real Central Arkansas conversions look like?
Here’s a project our Little Rock team completed in Judsonia on September 25, 2026. The homeowner’s bathtub-and-shower combination became a shower with a folding seat, grab bars, a handheld shower and corner storage. A curtain closes the shower, and the high window stays above it.

Notice the lower entry in the finished photo. It still has a threshold. Your own bathroom’s dimensions and the way you use it will determine the right base and features. See the full Judsonia project for a closer look at the same bathroom before, during and after.
What does a tub-to-shower conversion cost in Little Rock?
Our franchise’s published 2026 planning range is about $8,500–$17,000 installed. That’s a range across our franchise locations, rather than a Little Rock-only average or the price of the Judsonia project. Your bathroom and selections determine your written quote.
A smooth wall finish and curtain keep the design simpler. Decorative acrylic walls, glass doors and a seat give you more choices and can raise the price. Start with the features you’ll use every day. If a seat matters more than a wall pattern, tell us that first.
Our conversion pricing page explains the design examples and installed scope. For the wider comparison with shower kits and custom tile, read How Much Does a Tub-to-Shower Conversion Cost in 2027? It uses current 2026 price references to help you plan ahead.
What’s included when you replace the tub?
We remove and haul away the old materials, prepare the tub or shower area, and install the new shower base, acrylic walls and new valve. The quote includes the plumbing connections, enclosure and accessories you choose, along with installation and cleanup.
Repairs for water damage within the tub or shower area are included. Structural work is referred to the appropriate specialist. Tell us about any known leaks or soft spots during the visit so we can look at them with you.
You can keep the rest of the bathroom if it works for you. A new vanity, flooring throughout the room, lighting or a major layout change is separate work. If you’re doing a larger remodel, let us know who is handling the other parts so the work can be planned together.
Which shower choices will make the biggest difference for you?
Think about what bothers you about the tub now. Is it the step over the side, the cleaning or a shower that feels cramped? Those answers help us focus the design.
- The entry: we’ll look at the available space and suitable shower bases.
- The walls: smooth and decorative acrylic finishes give you different looks. Our one-piece wall wraps around the corners without grout lines on the wall surface to scrub.
- The enclosure: a curtain can keep the cost down. Glass can give you the look you want, with standard and custom options to compare.
- Seating and support: plan grab bars, a seat and a handheld shower around reach and how you’ll use them. Placement matters.
Our aging-in-place shower guide covers questions to bring to that conversation. A lower entry or a grab bar should be chosen for your bathroom and your needs.
How long will you be without the bathroom?
Many conversions can be installed in as little as one day after measurement and product preparation. Some bathrooms need more time. Custom bases, the conditions behind the old tub and custom glass can affect the schedule.
We’ll discuss the installation visits and when you can use the shower. Follow your installer’s instructions before turning on the water. Our one-day installation guide explains the difference between the wait for your order and the work inside your home.
Who will do the work in your home?
Bath Fitter manufactures and ships the acrylic products. Our franchise’s own installers put them in your bathroom, and our local team is here for help afterward. You can meet our Arkansas team before you book.
Bath Fitter acrylic products have a lifetime warranty, subject to the written terms. Doors, fixtures and other components can have different coverage. See the warranty details for what applies.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a tub-to-shower conversion cost in Little Rock?
Our franchise’s published 2026 planning range is about $8,500–$17,000 installed. It covers projects across our locations, rather than a Little Rock-only average. Your measurements and selected walls, enclosure and accessories determine your written quote.
Can I keep the shower in the same place as my tub?
Often, that is the starting point. We measure the tub area and check the drain, plumbing and available entry space before recommending a shower base. Keeping the footprint can simplify the work.
Should I remove the only bathtub in my house?
Think about who uses it. If someone enjoys baths or you have young children who need a tub, keeping it may make more sense. A replacement tub or an eligible custom-fit liner may be a better fit.
What if you find water damage behind the old tub?
Repairs for water damage within the tub or shower area are included in our installation price. Structural work is referred to the appropriate specialist. Tell us about known leaks or soft spots during your consultation.
How long does installation take?
Many conversions can be installed in as little as one day after measurement and product preparation. Some need more time, and custom glass may require another visit. We’ll explain the schedule and when the shower can be used.
Can you handle the shower while another contractor remodels the rest of the room?
Tell us what the other contractor is doing so we can discuss timing and how the work fits together. Our conversion quote covers the tub or shower area. Room-wide flooring, a vanity, lighting and major layout changes are separate work.
Can I get an online estimate before booking a visit?
Yes. Enter your project ZIP, then choose the shower options you’re considering to see a free planning range. Your local team measures the bathroom and confirms the details before giving you a final written quote.
